CHMODing with Cute FTP

In order to install Cutenews, you will need to CHMOD the files. Or you may need to CHMOD them for another reason. Learn how to do this in Cute FTP!

Open up Cute FTP and login. Select the file you want to CHMOD and right-click on it. (You can also CHMOD whole folders - for Cutenews installation you will need to CHMOD all folders) It should look like this:

Now click File Attributes or Properties/CHMOD. This should pop up:

In the box labelled permissions, type the number you would like to CHMOD it to (if you're using Cutenews then 777). On the RIGHT side, just below your web files, you should see CHMOD SUCCESSFUL written in green letters. If it doesn't work, check with your host about PHP/CGI support, as you may not have it.
